“Let’s give people the full slice”
Sharing behind-the-scenes photos of them on the set of X, Vijay asked Sandeep to release the “full version” of Arjun Reddy on the film’s 10th anniversary. He wrote, “Give people ‘The Full Version of SandeepVanga #ArjunReddy’ for the 10th anniversary @imvangasandeep! Can’t believe it’s been 7 years already, I remember so many moments like it was last year.” Sandeep She replied that she “missed” Vijay “the most” on the film’s anniversary, writing, “Vijay… we should definitely go for the 10th anniversary. Missing you the most today. #7YearsOfArjunReddy.”
For the uninitiated, Vijay talks about the cut of Arjun Reddy as Sandeep had intended. While the film currently runs for 3 hours and 2 minutes, the director’s original cut was over 4 hours long, allowing for much more exploration of Arjun’s story. When the CBFC certified the film as A, Sandeep stated that the board took his “creative struggle” for granted. For a film made by and starring newcomers, it broke records and grossed over ₹50 crores at the box office when it was released in 2017. Apart from Vijay, Arjun Reddy also starred Shalini Pandey and Rahul Ramakrishna in the lead roles.
Arjun Reddy tells the story of a high-functioning alcoholic and drug-addicted surgeon who loses control when he and his girlfriend break up. The film was criticized for glorifying toxic masculinitysubstance abuse and sexual abuse.

Sandeep’s latest film, AnimalStarring Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Bobby Deol in the lead roles, it was also a huge success. The film grossed over ₹900 crores at the box office. He will soon direct Prabhas in a film titled Spirit, which is yet to be released.
