Several Democratic National Convention attendees tested positive for COVID-19

Several Democratic National Convention (Democratic National Committee) attendees posted that they tested positive COVID-19 Just days after the event, including journalists and audience members, the convention, which lasted more than four days, was attended by thousands of people. Vice President Kamala Harris accepted the presidential nomination and Tim Walz announced himself as his vice presidential candidate.
However, days after the Democratic National Convention, several reporters took to social media to report that they had tested positive for the coronavirus. These users also posted images of their tests.
“When you spend five days in Chicago for the DNC and you come home with COVID-19, womp, womp!” journalist Christopher Wiggins posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter. “I actually came to the DNC healthy and hopeful and left very sick and disillusioned,” said human rights lawyer Yasmine Taeb.
“Wow! I brought home a ton of swag from the Democratic National Convention! Coffee mugs, stickers, t-shirts, posters, buttons, bags, pins, and… COVID! AWESOME!” added Fred Wellman, host of the podcast ‘On Democracy Pod’, on the platform run by Elon Musk.
“A bunch of people are reporting that they tested positive for COVID after attending the DNC, along with thousands of others, in an enclosed space for four days, largely without masks, during a surge, and they’re somehow surprised. Have they learned nothing?” another user exclaimed.
This year’s convention was the first major in-person Democratic event since 2016. The COVID-19 pandemic forced the 2020 convention to go virtual. This year, some attendees were seen wearing masks. In contrast, the Republican National Convention (RNC) had no attendees wearing masks.
