Integrated Command Control Centre, Rourkela Forest, the amusement park under construction at Koyalnagar and upgradation of the famous Vedvyas Peeth were discussed. Sundergarh District Magistrate Manoj Satyawan Mahajan, Rourkela Smart City CEO Ashutosh Kulkarni and other departmental officials were prominently present at the meeting.

The flagship project is ‘Rourkela-One’

‘Rourkela One’ is the flagship project of Rourkela Smart City. The project comprises three buildings including the Rourkela Municipal Corporation Smart City Command Control Centre, Tribal Museum and City Auditorium and Convention Centre. The Rourkela Smart City Building Command Control Centre will provide a single place to store all the information relating to security, traffic, management, emergency arrangements, emergency disasters and the existing control room of Rourkela Municipal Corporation in a single building. The Tribal Museum will be the main attraction. Things related to tribal culture and tribal heritage of Odisha will be kept in the museum. The Hockey Hall of Fame will also be developed on the site of the museum. The City Auditorium and Convention Centre will have an auditorium with a seating capacity of around 1500 people with a circular stage. It will have the facility of both video and live performance. To make the auditorium world-class, arrangements are also being made for the stage, background costumes, curtains, video screens, projectors, stage lighting, acoustic treatment, etc. But the work on this project is yet to be completed. Since the inception of the project, the Hockey World Cup has also been organised, but this project has not been completed.

The work of Koyalnagar recreational park is also incomplete

Similarly, the construction of the Koyalnagar Recreation Park is also not completed yet. This is an ambitious project under construction in Koyalnagar, which once completed will add another name to the list of entertainment venues in the city. But the pace of this project is quite slow.
