It is rumoured that before the incident, the three had drunk alcohol together at Mohlabani Ghat. During this time, Shiv Kumar jumped into the river. Shiv had left the house at 10 pm on Saturday: Shiv Kumar’s wife Seema Devi said that her husband had left the house at 10 pm on Saturday. She said that on Sundays, she would talk on her husband’s mobile several times a day. During this time, the husband would sometimes talk about being at Jharia’s Mod Katras and sometimes about returning home. After this, the mobile was put on flight mode. After the drowning incident, Shiv’s friends called Seema’s mobile and informed her. The family reached Mohlabani Ghat. Shiv Kumar’s mother Mathura Devi, his wife Seema Devi, his younger brother Raghu Yadav, his sons Justin Kumar Yadav (8) and Jians Kumar Yadav (6), and his aunt Anjana Devi are in a bad condition and are crying fearing something untoward might happen. Light installed at Mohalbani Ghat is faulty: Local people said that the street light installed by the Municipal Corporation at Mohalbani Mukti Dham Damodar River Ghat is faulty. Due to this, the youth could not be searched for in the river at night.
