Shivpuri: The Karaira district police have busted a gang involved in motorcycle theft. The gangsters used to steal motorcycles from various places in Shivpuri district and then sell them in other districts. The police have recovered eight bikes from these thieves which were stolen from different places.

Four defendants arrested

Police have arrested four members of the gang. Police recovered 8 stolen bikes and registered a case against the four accused under sections 303(2), 317(4), 317(5) of BNS. One member of the motorcycle thieves gang arrested by Karaira police is from Datia district while two accused are said to be from Guna district.

Information received from the informant.

Karaira Police Station In-charge Vinod Chhawai said that after getting information, Karaira police arrested Rohit Gautam (23), a resident of Ghooghsi village of Datia district, from Karahi bus stand. During interrogation, Rohit Gautam gave the name of his friend Satendra Rawat, a resident of Sehore police station area. Following this, Satendra was caught by the police and two stolen bicycles were recovered from him.

A total of 8 bicycles were recovered from the gang

Police have said that when the arrested Rohit Gautam and Satendra Rawat were questioned further, they told more names of their two associates residing in Guna district. Following this, the police nabbed their two associates Vijay Shah and Sanjay alias Gandhi Kushwaha. The police arrested the two accused from Guna district. A total of 8 stolen bikes have been recovered so far at the instance of the four accused.
