To achieve this, Kim Soo Hyun is ready to do his… K-drama returns with the upcoming new Disney Plus, LowerThe South Korean darling was initially in talks to join the dark comedy back in March. These plans were eventually confirmed, and Destined With You actress Jo Bo Ah was also considered to star alongside him.
On Monday, August 26, Disney Plus officially announced plans for the series to air soon. Fans are already hoping it will be the next big hit, considering each lead star has a huge fan following.

Knock Off Release Date
Knock Off is based on the all-too-familiar and realistic depiction of the 1997 Asian financial crisis (known as the Korean IMF crisis) and is set to premiere sometime in 2025. The exact Disney Plus release date will be revealed soon.
Helmed by director Park Hyun Suk (Stranger 2, Uncontrollably Fond, and Song of the Bandits), the K-drama will also star The Midnight Studio star Kwon Nara and The Roundup: Punishment actor Kim Mu Yeol.
Previous reports also suggest that the star-studded cast also welcomes Miss Night and Day‘ Lee Jung Eun, Jo Woo Jin of Narco-Saints, Queen of Tears cameo star Go Gyu Pil, Yoo Jae Myung of Itaewon Class and Marry my husbandActor Choi Gyu Ri of ‘s.
Production companies Arc Media and SLL are said to be backing the OTT release. Their previous projects that have hit global charts include Big Bet, The King’s Affection, Not Others and High Cookie.
K-drama imitation plot
In the Disney Plus series, Kim Soo Hyun will take on the role of Kim Sung Joon, a man whose life was turned upside down by the IMF crisis. He also lost his job. Over time, he entered the world of counterfeiting and became the vice president of a major Korean counterfeit market, eventually ruling the global market.
Jo Bo Ah plays his ex-girlfriend, Song Hye Jung, a special agent in the judicial police focused on cracking down on such practices. Unsurprisingly, the duo clashes over their opposing roles in society, leading to an endless cat-and-mouse dynamic between them.
