“Flipkart should change its name to Fraudkart,” said one online shopper. According to Abhishek Bhatnagar, his friend, Nikhil, asked for a Sonos speaker that was worth ₹30,000 on the e-commerce platform, but turned out to be a Xiaomi Bluetooth speaker priced at Rs 2,400 on delivery. User X also shared an unboxing video as proof.
“My friend (Nikhil) ordered a Sonos speaker worth Rs 30,000 and received a Mi Bluetooth speaker worth Rs 2,400 in a Sonos box. Even after multiple follow-ups and complaints, Flipkart and Flipkart support does not care to answer or resolve this,” Bhatnagar wrote.
He went on to accuse Flipkart of not responding, despite his friend posting what is purported to be video evidence of the speaker being unboxed.
The claims sparked disbelief, with many suggesting the clip was inconclusive as it does not rule out a previous unboxing.
Others simply refused to believe Bhatnagar and argued that Flipkart has an open-box delivery system for that exact purpose.
Still, the post came as no surprise to Online shopping skeptics.
“I don’t know when people will learn. Why order expensive items online? Cases like this happen every day. Stick to buying low-value items and buy expensive items in stores,” one comment read.
“There’s a new Flipkart scam every time I open Twitter,” wrote another.
It is not yet known whether the online retailer has addressed Nikhil’s complaint or not.
However, this is not an isolated incident as Flipkart has been at the centre of many similar allegations of order confusion.
Other sites including AmazonThey are not alien to these statements either.
