Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday spoke with the US President Joe Biden by phone. During the telephone conversation, Prime Minister Modi Several global issues were discussed, including violence in Bangladesh and the War between Russia and UkraineThe Prime Minister also expressed concern over the safety of minorities, especially Hindus in Bangladesh.
“I spoke to @POTUS and @JoeBiden on the phone today. We had a detailed exchange of views on various regional and global issues, including the situation in Ukraine. I reiterated India’s full support for the early return of peace and stability,” PM Modi said in a post on X.
“We also discussed the situation in Bangladesh and stressed the need to quickly restore normalcy and ensure the safety of minorities, especially Hindus, in Bangladesh,” he added.
“The Prime Minister conveyed his appreciation for President Biden’s deep commitment to the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership, which is based on shared values of democracy, rule of law, and strong people-to-people ties,” the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.
“The leaders reviewed significant progress in bilateral relations and stressed that the India-US partnership is aimed at benefiting the people of both countries as well as all of humanity,” it added.
The two leaders also reiterated their commitment to further strengthen cooperation in multilateral fora, including the Quad.
