Infosys job offer: If you get a job offer at Infosys, you will sooner or later work at Infosys: CEO Salil Parekh

Infosys CEO Salil Parekh has assured that anyone who has received an offer letter from the tech services giant will be employed at the company, though the dates may change depending on the requirements.

“All the offers we have made are for someone who will join the company. We have changed some dates but beyond that, everyone will join Infosys and there is no change in that approach,” Parekh told PTI.

Parekh’s response came against a backdrop of social media posts by anxious engineering graduates who have been reporting delays in the intake of around 2,000 people for nearly two years.

The Infosys CEO also assured that Generative AI is generating strong interest among clients and that there is a huge mobilization of GenAI within Infosys as well, but No layoffs are foreseen in your company thanks to these new-age technologies.

Earlier this month, IT employees’ union Nascent Information Technology Employees Senate (NITES) filed a complaint against Infosys over the delay in onboarding over 2,000 engineering graduates who were selected for various posts in the 2022-23 recruitment drive. The candidates were selected for posts like systems engineer and digital specialist engineer.

“These graduates, after receiving offer letters in April 2022, have been subjected to continuous delays in the onboarding process, unpaid pre-training programmes and unexpected additional assessments. Despite meeting all requirements on their part, these professionals have been left in limbo for more than two years…”, NITES had said.

These events occur at a time when Infosys witnessed a net decline in workforce strength for the sixth consecutive quarter in the April-June 2024 period, taking the total headcount of India’s second-largest IT services company to 315,332 from 317,240 at the end of the March 2024 quarter.

Although the job market remains tight, Infosys Chief Financial Officer Jayesh Sanghrajka said in July that the company was looking to hire up to 20,000 new employees this year, depending on the company’s growth.

In an interview with CNBC-TV18 in May this year, the Infosys CEO also said that his company was not considering downsizing or any kind of job cuts as happened with others in the industry due to GenAI.
