Champai Soren had met Union Home Minister Amit Shah in New Delhi on the evening of August 26. Assam Chief Minister and BJP’s co-in-charge of the Jharkhand assembly elections, Himanta Viswa Sarma, was also present on the occasion. During this time he decided to join the BJP.
