According to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Tourism, Britain is among the top three countries for foreign tourist arrivals, accounting for a 9.82 per cent share between January and June. Overall, foreign tourist arrivals to India increased by around 64 per cent compared to previous years.
“The Visa at Your Doorstep (VAYD) service has recently seen a significant surge in demand,” said Anirudh Singh, COO, Europe & CIS at VFS Global, the technology services provider to governments and diplomatic missions, including the Indian Mission in the UK.
“Demand for personalized and convenient services is increasing, and our VAYD service is perfectly positioned to meet this growing need. Equipped with mobile biometric capture kits, our staff visit applicants’ preferred location, whether it’s their workplace, hotel or home. This simple and convenient approach significantly improves the travel experience, allowing travelers to focus on their plans rather than administrative paperwork,” he said.
Recently, when UK-based television production company South Shore Productions was planning their visit to India for a documentary on English cricket legend Freddie Flintoff, they opted for VAYD service.
“The Visa at Your Doorstep service was used for a group of 14 of our staff ahead of a trip to India. VFS Global staff came to our office to process them instead of our team having to go to the visa office in person, which was helpful. Passports were returned with visas on time,” a company spokesperson said.
The service is designed to allow applicants to complete the Indian visa application process wherever they are, rather than having to visit a VFS Global visa centre located in different cities across the UK, including London. It is intended as a time-saving solution for businesses and production companies that need to apply for visas for multiple people simultaneously.
VFS Global said it also operates an optional form-filling service to ensure that applications are not rejected because key details have been omitted to make the process of travelling from the UK to India as smooth as possible.
