Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch three Vande Bharat trains from Delhi on August 31 virtually and simultaneously. These trains will operate on the routes from Meerut to Lucknow, Chennai to Nagercoil and Bengaluru to Madurai. According to reports, these trains will improve connectivity.

The new trains that will be put into service are:

  • Vande Bharat Express Train from Meerut to Lucknow
  • Chennai-Nagercoil Vande Bharat Express
  • Bengaluru-Madurai Vande Bharat Express

Vande Bharat will soon travel from Bikaner to Delhi

The Vande Bharat train is likely to start operating on the Bikaner-Delhi route in November. Passengers will be able to travel from Bikaner to Delhi in the morning and return the same evening, with the journey taking approximately four hours. The trains are expected to run regularly from November, and the schedule, station halts and timings will be finalised in October.

Vande Bharat Express Trains

The Vande Bharat Express is a semi-high speed, self-propelled, Indian-made train. The train is equipped with state-of-the-art amenities for the passengers, providing them with a faster, more comfortable and convenient travel experience. The Vande Bharat train is the first Indian-made semi-high speed train, also known as Train 18. It is designed to run at speeds up to 160 km/h and is equipped with modern amenities like GPS-based passenger information systems, onboard Wi-Fi and CCTV cameras for enhanced security.

There is a growing demand for the introduction of sleeper class Vande Bharat trains, capable of operating on long distance routes such as Delhi-Mumbai and Delhi-Howrah. Currently, all the Vande Bharat trains in operation have only seated coach and executive seated coach classes, which cater to shorter distance routes.
