Indian visitors to France can now book Eiffel Tower tickets using UPI

UPI at the Eiffel Tower: Indian visitors to Paris, France can now book their Eiffel Tower tickets easily using UPI payments, Patrick Branco Ruivo, CEO of the Eiffel Tower, announced on Wednesday, August 28. Indian tourists can book Eiffel Tower tickets using UPI directly when applying for a French visa.

“Your favourite payment method, UPI, has arrived in France! Patrick Branco Ruivo, CEO of the Eiffel Tower, reveals that you can now book guided tours of the Eiffel Tower using UPI. Experience the City of Light with the ease of seamless digital payments!” the National Payments Corporation of India wrote in a tweet.

Ruivo had previously announced that he aimed to increase the number of Indian visitors to the Eiffel Tower from 4 percent to 8 percent by 2026.

In early 2024, the Eiffel Tower became the first European merchant to accept payments via UPI, allowing Indian tourists to pay for their tickets, merchandise and food using UPI.

The authorities have also introduced vegetarian meals at two restaurants in the Tower that specifically cater to Indian eating habits.

Under the leadership of Patrick Branco Ruivo, the Eiffel Tower authorities have taken steps to make the popular global destination a more attractive place for Indian tourists.
