Nasscom appoints Sindhu Gangadharan, Managing Director, SAP Labs India, as President

The National Association of Software and Services Companies (National Technical Assistance Services Command (NASSCOM)) has appointed Sindhu Gangadharan, Managing Director of SAP Labs India, as its new President.

Gangadharan succeeds Rajesh Nambiar, who has been appointed as the industry body’s chairman-designate.

Focusing on India’s tech ecosystem

Under the leadership of Gangadharan, Nambiar and the Nasscom Executive Council, the organisation will prioritise establishing India as a leading global technology ecosystem. Its focus will be on realigning the technology sector to maximise growth by harnessing technological potential and achieving tangible impacts.

This includes a strong emphasis on disruptive technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), innovation and strengthening India’s position as a global hub for digital talent.

Key priorities for the future

The new Nasscom leadership has outlined several key priorities to boost the sector. These include increasing focus on AI and other emerging technologies, fostering innovation, developing an enabling policy environment and boosting engineering research and development (R&D) capabilities.

Sindhu Gangadharan’s role

Sindhu Gangadharan is not only the first woman to lead SAP Labs India, but also holds a global role as Head of Customer Innovation Services at SAP.

In 2023, she was appointed as Chairperson of the Nasscom GCC Board. Gangadharan also sits on the boards of Siemens India and Titan Company and is a member of the Steering Committee of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce.

His leadership of SAP Labs India has been marked by a commitment to innovation and fostering a strong digital talent pool in the country.
