The Ducati Multistrada V4 RS comes with a Desmosedici Stradale engine used in the Panigale V4

ducati India has launched the sportiest motorcycle with the name Multistrada in the Indian market. Called Ducati Multistrada V4 RSThe motorcycle was launched at a starting price of Rs 38.40 lakh (ex-showroom) and will be produced in several series. Launched to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Bologna-based manufacturer, the motorcycle will come with the Desmosedici Stradale engine that is derived from the unit used in the Panigale V4. As per the brand’s announcement, deliveries of the motorcycle will begin in early September across India.

The track-focused V4 RS version of the Multistrada has been designed to offer improved performance compared to the standard versions. The bike’s strong point, as already mentioned, is its liquid-cooled 1,103 cc Desmosedici Stradale V4 engine. At its peak performance, this engine generates 180 hp of power and 118 Nm of maximum torque. This power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed transmission with the brand’s quick-shifter.

The Italian brand has also improved the bike’s riding ergonomics along with performance. Based on an aluminium frame and titanium subframe, the bike is suspended on a fully adjustable 48mm Ohlins USD front fork. Meanwhile, the rear features a fully adjustable Ohlins monoshock with electronic compression and rebound adjustment with a single-sided aluminium swingarm.

The bike is held firmly in place by 17-inch Marchesini forged alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV Corsa rubber. These wheels provide clearance for the mounting of the dual 330mm semi-floating brake disc with 4-piston Brembo monobloc calipers at the front and a 265mm disc with 2-piston Brembo floating calipers at the rear.

To make things easier for the rider, the motorcycle is equipped with a 6.5-inch TFT display. It also includes features like traction control, wheelie control, cornering ABS, vehicle hold control, cornering light and more.

To make all this presentable, the brand has increased the appeal of the Multistrada’s aggressive look with the new Iceberg White livery with red inserts. It is enhanced by MotoGP-inspired graphics. Carbon fibre components have also been used extensively on the front mudguards, heat shield, front beak and other parts of the bike.
