After mixed results on the opening day, the Indian contingent will be back in action on Day 2 with two medal events scheduled at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games. Two-time Paralympic medallist Avani Lekhra will begin her much-awaited campaign while the young archer will feature in the round-of-16 match on Friday, August 30.
India failed to open its medal account on the first day but Sheetal made headlines with her season-best performance in the qualification round of the women’s individual compound event. She scored 703 points to finish second in the qualification round and will be back in action on Saturday.
In the first medal match, to be held on Friday, Karam Jyoti and Sakshi Kasana will be competing in the women’s discus throw F55 final. Young athlete Preethi Pal will also be competing in the women’s 100m T35 final in India’s second medal match, to be held tomorrow.
