This Rs 4 crore carriage will wake up the driver if he falls asleep during the journey, faster than a high-speed bullet train.

Aston Martin has launched the new Vantage in India at a price of Rs 3.99 crore. The first standalone Vantage was launched in the early 1970s. Deliveries of the new Vantage will commence in the fourth quarter of 2024.

Aston Martin Vantage: Design

The new Vantage sports a more aggressive visual stance than its predecessor, displaying a bold and dynamic design language. The front fascia features a striking grille spanning almost the entire width of the bumper, complemented by new air intakes on the sides and a more pronounced character line on the bonnet. Its resemblance to the iconic One-77 supercar is obvious.

In profile, the fender air ducts have been subtly redesigned, while at the rear there is a more prominent bumper and diffuser combination. The new Vantage also has a wider stance with an increased width of 30mm, enhancing its overall presence. It also features stylish frameless mirrors and flush-mounted electronic door handles. Additionally, buyers can choose from two different 21-inch alloy wheels with bespoke designs.

Aston Martin Vantage: powertrain and performance

The Aston Martin Vantage is powered by the same Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that now produces 658 PS and 800 Nm of peak torque. For reference, the outgoing Vantage used to make 504 PS and 685 Nm. This engine is mated to an 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox that sends power to the rear wheels via an electromechanical limited-slip differential.

The final drive ratio of the Aston Martin Vantage has also been reduced, improving acceleration. Talking about performance, the Vantage can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds. The British sports car can reach a top speed of 325 kmph. There are five selectable driving modes – Wet, Sport, Sports Plus, Track and Individual – which change the calibration of the powertrain, steering and chassis.
