Haryana: Which party won how many seats in the last assembly elections?

In the last assembly elections, the BJP won a maximum of 40 seats after which it formed the government. The Congress became the main opposition party by winning 31 seats. While the Jannayak Janata Party (JJP) managed to win 10 seats. Independents won 7 seats, the Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) won one seat and the Haryana Lokhit Party won one seat.

Why was Manohar Lal Khattar eliminated?

After the last assembly elections, the BJP had formed a coalition government with the JJP. Manohar Lal Khattar again became the Chief Minister of the state, while Dushyant Chautala of the JJP became the Deputy Chief Minister. However, this alliance broke down following a disagreement over seat sharing in the Lok Sabha elections. The BJP subsequently saved its government with the support of independent MLAs. After a few days, the BJP removed Khattar from the post of Chief Minister and handed over the reins of the state to Naib Singh Saini.
