Cuttlefish Ingredient In Patanjali Tooth Powder? Delhi High Court Investigates Shock Claim

He Delhi High Court has issued warnings to Baba Ramdev and Patanjali’s Divya Pharmacy following a petition demanding herbal tooth powder Divya Teeth Whitening It contains non-vegetarian ingredients despite being labelled as vegetarian. Advocate Yatin Sharma, who filed the petition, argued that the product’s packaging prominently displays a green dot, a symbol that usually indicates a vegetarian product, while the ingredient list includes Sepia officinalis, derived from cuttlefish.

The petitioner and his family, who have been consuming the product for a long time due to its advertised vegetarian nature, were shocked to discover the inclusion of animal-derived ingredients. The petition highlighted that this discovery was particularly distressing for the family, who adhere to strict vegetarian practices based on their Brahmin heritage. The petition also noted that Baba Ramdev had admitted in a YouTube video that “Samudra fen,” an ingredient in the product, is of animal origin, despite the product being marketed as vegetarian.

The case is scheduled for further hearing on November 28, and the petition requests judicial intervention to address the alleged misrepresentation and ensure transparency in product labeling. The petition also highlights the importance of adherence to religious beliefs and the need for the court to take decisive action to enforce its directives.
