For those looking to get their hands on the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, or iPhone 16 Pro Max, we may know when the phones are likely to be available for pre-order.
According to reports (and Apple’s track record), new devices typically become available for pre-order on the following Friday and go on sale the following Friday, even if announcements don’t happen on the usual Tuesday.
iPhone 14 Series Launchedfor example, it was a Wednesday and pre-orders still opened on Friday of the same week.
In this case, the iPhone 16 series could be available for pre-orders on September 13 and could go on sale on September 20. From Bloomberg Apple tracker Mark Gurman said in his weekly newsletter that the tech giant also plans to open a new retail store in Southern California on September 16.
“Now, why is this interesting? Apple is known to open stores around the time of new product launches, and that Friday, September 20, is a very plausible launch date for the iPhone 16,” he added.
Gurman may have been wrong about the September 10 release date (like most of us), but the September 20 date may be more than a hunch.
Various online publications such as The Independent, Forbes and Tom’s Guide They also seem to be betting on this date.
iPhone 16 expected price in India
In terms of pricing, the iPhone 16 series could be priced lower than the iPhone 15 launch price in India due to the Basic tariffs on mobile phones reduced from 20% to 15%.
The iPhone 15 was launched in early ₹79,900, the iPhone 15 Plus at ₹89,900, the iPhone 15 Pro, at ₹1.34.900 and the iPhone 15 Pro Max at ₹1.59.900.
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max models saw a price drop from ₹5,100 to ₹6,000 and the base iPhone 15 models saw their prices reduced by ₹300.
