Trinamool Chhatra Parishad protest across the state

Kolkata/Haldia: On the instructions of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, Trinamool Chhatra Parishad on Friday organised protests in front of different colleges across the state. The previous agenda was followed by the demand for death penalty for the culprits of rape and murder of a woman doctor at RG Kar hospital and changes in the law on women’s safety. Trinamool Chhatra Parishad workers staged a protest in front of Khudiram Bose Central College, Ashutosh College and other colleges in Kolkata. Here, apart from Purba Medinipur, Hooghly and Howrah, these protests were held in all districts of the state. The previous agenda was not followed in the colleges where exams were held on the day. Mahishadal MLA Tilak Kumar Chakraborty, Trinamool leaders Shivli Das and Manas Kumar Panda met the Trinamool Student Council workers during the protest in front of Mahishadal and Haldia Development Block College in East Medinipur.

Trinamool MLA Chakraborty said: The incident at RG Kar Hospital cannot be condemned enough. Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and party national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee have demanded an amendment in the law to ensure speedy punishment to the culprits of rape incidents. Trinamool will continue the agitation regarding the above demands.
