FUJIFILM India, an imaging technology brand, has announced the launch of the Fujifilm X-T50 mirrorless digital camera, the latest model in the X series. The starting price of the camera body is Rs. 149,999.
The fifth generation of the X series is equipped with the 40.2-megapixel back-illuminated X-Trans CMOS 5 HR sensor. The image processing algorithm promises to deliver high resolution while maintaining a high signal-to-noise ratio. The pixel structure enables more light to be captured efficiently, ISO 125 is adopted as the normal sensitivity, which was previously used as an extended sensitivity for cameras, the company says. In addition, the electronic shutter can be set to a shutter speed of 1/180000 sec. at most, thus achieving control over the exposure time.
The camera is equipped with an AI-based subject detection autofocus system developed using deep learning technology. The camera can now detect animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, airplanes, trains, insects, and drones. In addition, the camera is equipped with an autofocus prediction algorithm that is more advanced than previous models. This allows you to more comfortably photograph a wide range of subjects, including cars and fast-moving animals.
There are a total of 20 film simulation modes available for the X-T5o, including REALA ACE. Users can enjoy a wide variety of color expressions as if they were selecting a photographic film according to the subject or scene. The large pixel count of approximately 40.2 megapixels is used in the digital teleconverter function. Images can be enlarged 1.4x and 2x, the company claims.
The camera is also equipped with a 5-axis in-body image stabilization function with a maximum of 7.0 stops. While maintaining the mobility that has been a feature of previous models, it allows for comfortable handheld shooting even in dark scenes such as night scenes, expanding the shooting field. 6.2K/30P video recording is possible. The AF tracking function during video recording is also available for recording high-quality videos.
The camera can shoot in AUTO mode, which detects the scene and automatically selects the optimal shooting settings, simply by operating the AUTO mode shift lever on the top surface of the body. The camera automatically detects the subject and tracks it while keeping it in focus, making it easy to capture both still images and movies.
The new grip shape fits comfortably in the hand while maintaining a compact size, resulting in high grip performance, the company claims. The film simulation dial is incorporated into the top plate. This allows users to switch between film simulation modes with intuitive operation depending on the subject or scene, allowing different color tones to be enjoyed in both still and motion images with ease, Fujifilm says.
A pop-up flash integrated into the viewfinder is mounted on the top plate, controlling the amount of light and displaying its power in dark scenes and backlit portraits. The model features a tilting 1.84 million-dot rear LCD monitor. Additionally, the shape of the grip and the arrangement of buttons on the back of the camera have been adjusted to allow for more comfortable shooting of both still and moving images, according to the company.
