Today’s budget will meet the aspirations of Indians: CM Dhami

Uttarakhand News: Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami addressed the media at the Secretariat on the General Budget 2024-25. Expressing his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, CM Dhami said that this budget will realise the aspirations of the people of India and also give new direction and impetus to the country. CM Dhami said that the budget presented by Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in the House is historic, visionary, inclusive, comprehensive and all-encompassing.

He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and the Finance Minister for the package.
CM Dhami, on behalf of all the people of the state, expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for announcing a special assistance package for the losses caused due to the natural disaster in Uttarakhand in the Union Budget 2024-25. He said that through this special package, the damages caused due to the disasters in the state will not hamper the pace of development of the state. The Chief Minister said that the Central Government has included 9 priorities for a developed India in the budget which will prove effective in strengthening the overall development of India. He said that this budget will work towards bringing prosperity in the life of the common man.

Chief Minister Dhami has expressed his gratitude to the Central Government for initiating the fourth phase of the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY). The Chief Minister said that in order to provide better connectivity to rural areas, the fourth phase of PMGSY will be initiated to provide all-weather connectivity to 25,000 rural areas. The Chief Minister said that this decision of the Central Government will further strengthen road connectivity in rural areas of Uttarakhand. On increasing the standard deduction from 50 thousand to 75 thousand, CM Dhami said that in the new tax system, increasing the standard deduction from 50 thousand to 75 thousand will provide relief to government employees and pensioners.

CM Dhami said that setting up of 12 new industrial parks across the country was announced in the general budget. He said that investment agreements worth over three and a half lakh crore rupees were signed at the World Investment Summit held in Uttarakhand last year. In such a situation, Uttarakhand is also expected to benefit from the construction of industrial parks. CM Dhami said that the central government budget is focusing on the poor, women, youth and farmers. Employment, skills, MSMEs and middle class have been specially included in the budget theme. CM Dhami said that a provision has been included in the budget to provide additional assistance from the Central Government for damage caused by landslides and excessive rainfall in Uttarakhand. Solar energy has been encouraged in the chief minister’s budget for Surya Ghar Yojana. With this, remote areas of the state will get definite benefits.

Loan up to Rs 10 lakh to higher education students
CM Dhami said that many important points for the youth have been included in the budget. He said that arrangements have been made to provide loans up to Rs 10 lakh to students of higher education in national institutions. Now a loan of up to Rs 7.5 lakh has been provided under the Skill Loan. Besides, the Central Government has announced a minimum support price for major crops. People registering for the first time will be provided an assistance of Rs 15,000. The Chief Minister said that for those seeking employment for the first time, people registering with EPFO ​​for the first time, if their salary is less than Rs 1 lakh, will be provided an assistance of Rs 15,000 in three installments. In addition to this, under the education loan, those who do not get any benefit under government schemes will get loans for admission in institutions across the country. The government will donate up to 3 per cent of the loan amount. For this, e-vouchers will be brought in which will be given to one lakh students every year.
