Further, instructions were also given that only 5 to 7 people would be allowed to go to the fair at a time and they would also have to return.

Angry over this decision of the district administration, local villagers blocked the Siwan-Andar main road late on Friday evening and started protesting. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and tried to pacify the people. But when the people did not agree, the police used mild force. This angered the villagers and they started pelting stones at the police. Two policemen were injured after being pelted with stones. Following this, the mob set a government vehicle on fire. As soon as information about the incident was received, police from a dozen police stations, district magistrate Mukul Kumar Gupta and SP Amitesh Kumar reached the spot and brought the situation under control.
