James O’Barr wrote the comic as a cathartic exercise, after he lost his fiancée to a drunk driver who crashed his car into hers.

Eric (Bill Skarsgård) and Shelly (FKA Twigs) are soul mates and when her past comes back to haunt her in the form of Vincent Roeg (Danny Huston) and his evil thugs, the lovers lose their lives.
