Kevin Owens He put a big question mark over his match against Cody Rhodes in Party in Berlin Mentioning the champion’s knee on Smackdown. While the premium live event is scheduled for Saturday (August 31), Cody has been competing on live events regularly and defending his title.
During his Smackdown segment, Owens hinted that Cody has a knee problem. The champion disagreed with Owens and said that his knee was perfectly fine. Fans are now worried about whether Cody is fit or not. What if the championship match is cancelled?
Fightful has reported that there are no changes to the plan and that the Cody-Owens match will take place at Bash in Berlin. However, it is not known whether Cody has a knee issue or not.
This could also be part of the storyline. It wouldn’t be a huge surprise if Owens turned heel and attacked Cody’s knee after the title match. These types of events are pretty common in pro wrestling and Owens mentioning Cody’s knee problem could be part of the storyline.
The storyline between Cody and Owens is likely to continue after Bash in Berlin. There is little chance that the former Universal Champion will dethrone Cody to win the belt.
WWE Now it gives superstars long streaks as champions and Cody looks all but set to retain the WWE Undisputed Championship at least until Wrestlemania 41. He won the title at Wrestlemania 40 by defeating Roman reigns.
American Nightmare earned his title opportunity by winning the 2024 Royal Rumble. Cody had also won the 2023 Royal Rumble, but lost to Roman Reigns in the main event of Wrestlemania 39.
Cody has held the championship since WrestleMania 40 and is likely to continue his reign. A rematch between Cody and Roman does not appear to be in the cards for now.
