BJP accuses Delhi govt of playing politics over pollution; AAP cites improvement in air quality
The BJP on Saturday slammed the Delhi government, accusing it of resorting to “political tricks” and “card games” with the Centre over the issue of air pollution affecting the city, instead of taking concrete steps to address the health risk.
However, the AAP, in a statement, noted an improvement in the city’s air quality and said its government has taken “unprecedented steps” to tackle pollution, including promoting electric vehicles and switching 1,800 industrial units to cleaner piped natural gas.
Delhi BJP chief Virendra Sachdeva said the Kejriwal government should stop its “political tricks” and immediately convene an all-party meeting with representation from his Punjab government, to discuss preparedness to tackle high levels of air pollution in winter.
