VIDEO: Kidnapped girl clings to her kidnapper as both cry as they part ways in Jaipur

Jaipur: In a shocking yet emotional video, a two-year-old boy can be seen clinging to his kidnapper in Jaipur.

The boy, Prithvi, was rescued by Jaipur police from his abductor, Tanuj Chahar, in Aligarh on August 27, ending a year-long investigation.

The video captures the heartbreaking moment when the boy cries as a policeman separates him from Chahar. The policeman then returned Prithvi to his mother, who was waiting outside. Chahar is even seen wiping away her tears as the boy is taken away from her.

Tanuj Chahar, 33, was a former senior constable of the reserve line of police in Aligarh. He had managed to evade capture for more than a year by frequently altering his appearance, changing his location and avoiding using his phone. He even grew a beard and disguised himself as a monk to conceal his identity.

Chahar had kidnapped Prithvi after her mother, Poonam Chaudhary, whom he knew from before, refused to leave home with him. Following her refusal, Chahar allegedly kidnapped her daughter in an attempt to force her to flee with him.

Reports indicate that Chahar travelled to Jaipur in search of Chaudhary, only to find out that she was married to someone else. After living with her in Jaipur, their relationship ended due to family objections. During this period, Chaudhary had a son, prompting Chahar to kidnap him.

Chahar also claimed that the girl was his. After failing to convince Chaudhary to come with him to Uttar Pradesh, he resorted to kidnapping the girl in a desperate attempt to reunite with her.

Jaipur Police ASP Poonamchand Vishnoi said that while Chahar was on the run, he was under surveillance and had been in touch with the boy’s mother.

Chahar is currently in police custody and continues to claim that the child is hers. Meanwhile, Prithvi’s mother has flatly denied any future association with Chahar.

The police operation, carried out by a special team, tracked Chahar at multiple locations, including Mathura, Agra and Vrindavan.
