Councillor Ram Chander was ‘kidnapped’ by BJP: AAP sensational claims, saffron party denies

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Sunday alleged that the Bharatiya Janata Party (Indian People’s Party (BJP)) kidnapped his councilor RamchandraIt is noteworthy that Ram Chander represents Bawana’s Shahabad Dairy in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi. Senior AAP leader Manish SisodiaIn his post on X, he accused the saffron party of threatening the councillor with the Education Department and the CBI. Ram Chander reportedly returned after some time.

Sisodia added that when Ram Chander did not accede to the BJP’s demand, he was abducted. “The BJP threatened councillor Ram Chander ji with the ED CBI. When he did not get scared, the BJP goons took him away in a car,” the former Delhi Chief Minister alleged.

For the uninitiated, the AAP councillor A few days ago, he joined the BJP along with three other councillors. He rejoined the AAP in the presence of Sisodia. On Sunday, Ram Chander’s son, in a video message, accused the BJP of kidnapping his father.

The AAP also informed the police about the incident. AAP leader Durgesh Pathana called it “absolute hooliganism”. He also lashed out at Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena over the entire incident.

Ram Chander claimed that he was abducted by the BJP and threatened with investigation by the CBI and ED and then released.

Delhi BJP media in-charge Praveen Shankar Kapoor denied these allegations levelled by the AAP. “You are the kings of false sensationalism. Councillor Ramchandra is not in your party. We have nothing to do with it but it is certain that he is sitting at home and you are spreading rumours,” he said in his post on X.

Ram Chander had rejoined the AAP on Thursday. Ramchandra, who represents ward no 28 and is a former Bawana Assembly MP, had initially switched over to the BJP along with four other AAP councillors on August 25. The other councillors who made the switch were Pawan Sehrawat (ward 30), Mamata Pawan (ward 177), Sugandha Bidhuri (ward 178) and Manju Nirmal (ward 180). Two of these councillors, Ram Chander and Sehrawat, are from Narela zone, while the remaining three are from the central zone.
