Consulting firms grab 35% of IIM Ahmedabad’s 2024 MBA (PGPX) students

Management and technology consulting firms emerged as the top recruiters during final placements of Ahmedabad Institute of Medical InformationIt’s a year Master of Business Administration (PGPX) batch, hiring 35% of the students, revealed the institute’s audited final placement report, aligned with the ‘Indian Placement Reporting Standards’ (IPRS).

The Information Technology (IT) Services, BFSI and Healthcare sectors followed closely behind by hiring 18%, 11% and 10% of students respectively.

This year, around 105 companies from various sectors (both new and returning recruiters) participated in the PGPX placement season, offering a wide range of positions to around 121 students. A total of 67 new organisations participated in the placement process for the first time.

The companies that recruited included AccentureAdani Group, Amazon, Aptiv, Open Financial Technologies, Blue Ridge, Cognizant, Datawrkz, DevRev, Eli Lilly, ExxonMobil, Hindustan Coca Cola Beverages, HDFC Credila, IIMA Endowment Fund, iio Financial Services, KPMG, Lumiq, McKinsey, Merilytics, Next Bharat Ventures, Persistent systemsRPG Group, Rx Consultants, Shell, Star Health, Sun PharmacyTakshashila Consulting, Tata PowerTiger Analysis, Televisions, Wells FargoXynteo, and Zomato.

Accenture, Persistent Systems, Adani Group, RPC Group and Eli Lilly were the firms that made the most offers.

Professor Viswanath Pingali, Chairperson of the Placement Committee, said in a statement, “Interest from several new recruiters this year suggests the growing popularity of the programme among recruiters.” Indian and international recruiters hired for leadership positions as well as middle and senior management positions. Apart from large corporates, startups, both unicorns and unicorns-to-be, also recruited students this year. Of the 147 students eligible for placements, 21 students opted out of the placement process.
