Indian Semiconductors: India and Singapore sign MoUs in the fields of digital technology and semiconductors

India and Singapore signed four memorandums of understanding (MoU) in the fields of digital technologies, semiconductors and healthcare cooperation and skills development, which will further strengthen cooperation between the two nations.

Visiting Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived at Parliament House on Thursday where he received a ceremonial welcome.

He met with his Singaporean counterpart, Lawrence Wong, and the two delegations held bilateral meetings, after which Memoranda of Understanding were signed.

The first MoU was signed between India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and Singapore’s Ministry of Digital and Information Development for cooperation in the field of digital technologies.

It will facilitate closer cooperation between India and Singapore in areas of digital technologies such as IPR, cybersecurity, 5G and emerging technologies such as supercomputing, quantum computing and artificial intelligence.

The MoU will also enable cooperation in the training and retraining of digital workers within the scope of this MoU.

India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and Singapore’s Ministry of Commerce and Industry signed another MoU on India-Singapore cooperation. Semiconductor Ecosystem Partnership. The third MoU was signed between the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of India and the Ministry of Health of Singapore on cooperation in the field of health and medicine.

The MoU also aims to promote closer cooperation in the areas of human resource development in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors, and will complement New Delhi’s efforts to promote Indian healthcare professionals in Singapore.

In addition, India’s Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship and Singapore’s Ministry of Education also signed an MoU on educational cooperation and skill development.

The agreement aims to promote closer cooperation in the areas of technical and vocational education and training.

India and Singapore are actively collaborating in the area of ​​capacity development. This MoU will complement these ongoing initiatives.

Earlier, Prime Minister Modi also signed the visitors’ book at Parliament House.

Prime Minister Modi and Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong met with ministers and delegates from each country.
