An inter-ministerial team of the central government will visit the flood-hit districts of Andhra Pradesh on Thursday and interact with the affected people. The team will visit flood-hit Krishna, NTR and Guntur districts. “The central team will include National Disaster Management Authority advisor KP Singh and Central Water Commission director Siddarth Mitra,” a statement said.

Two Bangladeshi nationals were arrested in the India-Nepal border area for allegedly trying to cross into India without a visa, a senior official said on Thursday. Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) commander Sankar Singh said the two, identified as Ahmed Rubel and Mohammad Khukan, were arrested when they were trying to cross into India from Nepal through the Bargadwa border post on Wednesday evening.

A man was seriously injured after being attacked with a machete by two persons in Pune city in Maharashtra, police said. The incident took place on Wednesday morning in Kirkatwadi area on Sinhagad Road following which the police arrested the accused duo, including a minor, they said.
