Amitabh Bachchan says women are the pride of the family
While drawing the analogy, Krishna stated that, “If I say that an unmarried woman is a burden on her family, then after a certain age, an unemployed man is also a burden.”
Amitabh reacted to her comments and said, “Ek baat batye aapko. The girl child who is born never lost her power. The woman is very proud. (Can I tell you one thing? A woman can never be a burden on the family. She is always a pride).”
The Internet is divided over a KBC contestant’s views on women
Reacting to the video, the internet was divided on Krishna’s perspective. Some users disagreed with his opinion, while others argued that it differs depending on one’s point of view.
One user wrote, “Bojh is synonymous with responsibility. This mindset about gender is triggering. It is very annoying that there are still so many people who think like this.” Another user commented, “Anyone who does not earn money is treated like a bojh.” A user, while defending Krishna, wrote, “Let’s not read too much into the lines. A person’s thoughts and beliefs do not just depend on their upbringing or education or how they are brought up. It also depends on where they come from. It differs for urban and rural area. The contestant comes from a rural area, hence, he has no idea about words and concepts like feminism/gender equality/independence etc. It has nothing to do with degrading a woman in any way, but the fact of life outside social media. I am not saying I support it, but he is speaking his mind.”
