GoaIndia’s sun-drenched beach paradise has added another milestone to its name with the launch of a new international route. Uzbekistan Airlines has launched direct flights between Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, and Mopa International Airport in Goa. This new connection aims to boost tourism and trade between the two countries.
Uzbekistan Airways will connect Tashkent to Goa’s Mopa International Airport with direct flights on a modern Airbus A320 Neo. This new route aims to boost tourism and cultural exchange between the two countries. The flights were made possible by the combined efforts of the Department of Tourism, Goa, the Embassy of India in Tashkent and the Embassy of Uzbekistan. Goa Tourism will also participate in the Tashkent International Tourism Fair to further promote this new connection and attract more visitors from Uzbekistan.
Welcoming this initiative, Indian Tourism Minister Mr. Rohan A. Khaunte said, “The introduction of direct flights from Tashkent to Goa marks an important milestone in enhancing Goa’s connectivity with Central Asia. This new connection will not only boost tourism but also strengthen our cultural ties with Uzbekistan. We are committed to developing Goa as a well-connected and accessible destination for travellers from across the world.”
Suneel Anchipaka, IAS, Director of Tourism and Managing Director of GTDC, echoed the Minister’s sentiments and said, “Uzbekistan Airways’ decision to commence Flights to Goa “This underscores the growing global interest in our state as a premier tourist destination. This direct connectivity will undoubtedly enhance the travel experience of visitors to Uzbekistan, making Goa more accessible and attractive.”
The launch of Uzbekistan Airways flights to Goa is expected to boost tourism and trade between the two countries. It will also contribute to the growth of Mopa International Airport, which is fast emerging as a major aviation hub in India.
