The much-awaited wedding of Radhika Merchant and Anant Ambani is finally here and the fashion world is abuzz with excitement. The day was filled with stunning looks from numerous celebrities. Radhika’s ensemble is a masterpiece crafted by renowned designer Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla and styled to perfection by Rhea Kapoor. According to Rhea Kapoor, “Radhika’s ensemble is Abu Sandeep’s intricate interpretation of ‘Panetar’, the Gujarati tradition of brides wearing red and white.
The ivory Zardozi embroidered ensemble comprises a ghagra that hangs over a second detachable layer, a five-metre veil and a shoulder-fabric dupatta. The ghagra shimmers with three red-coloured borders. Its workmanship is the finest amalgamation of Naqshi, Saadi and Zardozi, hand-embroidered in a symmetrical fashion on intricate floral bottons profusely decorated with stones, sequins, tamba tikkis and a touch of red Resham.
The head veil has incredibly delicate jaali and cutwork, while the detachable veil is an 80-inch Zardozi stunner. The ensemble is completed with a fully embroidered red dupatta on the shoulders that enhances the silhouette with maximum drama.
Makeup and glamour by Radhika Merchant
Spectacular accessories completed Radhika’s overall look and indeed, her look resembles that of a contemporary princess. Her jewellery pieces include a heavy Kundan necklace accented with stones and a layered diamond necklace set with a drop of green emeralds. She completed the fabulous look with matching earrings, a maang tikka and stunning golden Big hathphools. Her conventional chooda added a conventional touch to her bridal attire.
The bride’s makeup was perfect. Her makeup artist chose a warm, shimmery foundation that enhanced her radiant skin tone. A shimmery eyeshadow was applied over her eyes, along with black kajal, which made them look bigger and more attractive at the same time.
The cheeks were also adorned with a rosy blush, while for the lips she chose a bright and bold red lip shade, which not only elevated the look but also intensified the focus on her natural beauty.
