Jamshedpur News: A protest will be held at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on the 14th to demand inclusion of Ho language in the Eighth Schedule of the Indian Constitution. This protest is being led by Adivasi Ho Samaj Yuva Mahasabha and All India Ho Language Action Committee. This information was provided by Sura Biruli, National Vice President of Adivasi Ho Samaj Yuva Mahasabha, in a press conference held in Golmuri on Friday. Biruli said that 4,000-5,000 people will gather in Delhi for this protest. 2-3 thousand people from all three districts of Kolhan will participate in the protest.
He will travel to Delhi from September 11.
People belonging to the tribal community from Kolhan region will start marching towards Delhi from September 11. They will leave for Delhi from Tatanagar railway station, Chakradharpur, Adityapur, Ghatshila, Chandil and other railway stations. Hundreds of people from places like Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Balasore, Badampahar etc. of Odisha will also participate in the protest.
They organize a seminar on the importance of language
A seminar on the importance of the Ho language will be organised at an auditorium in Delhi on 13th September. The aim of this event is to create awareness among the people of the Ho community about the need to recognise the language included in the Eighth Schedule and the importance of preserving the mother tongue. Intellectuals, educationists and constitutional experts from the Ho society will participate in the seminar. These experts will discuss the cultural and educational benefits of including the Ho language in the Eighth Schedule. The intellectuals will explain in detail the importance of preserving and promoting the mother tongue. Apart from this, the participants will also be provided with important information about constitutional processes and language rights.
The population of the Ho community in the country is around 45 lakhs.
The population of people of different languages in India is more than 45 lakh. In Kolhan alone, the population of Ho society will be around 20 lakhs. The Ho community has been demanding for a long time to include their mother tongue Ho in the Eighth Schedule. Despite this, efforts have been made to marginalize the society. Therefore, the Ho community has decided that the Ho speakers movement will continue until the Ho language is included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India.
