Actor Prateik Babbar Injured: Breaks Lower Back While Training | People News

Mumbai: Actor Prateik Patil Babbar, who will be seen playing an MMA fighter in the upcoming short film ‘Beinteha’, suffered a serious back injury during the shoot, leading to a break in filming.

He said he was in rehab and physical therapy and couldn’t train at all.

Prateik recalls, “I injured my lower back while weight training, which led to the shoot being postponed for three and a half months. During that time, I was undergoing rehabilitation and physiotherapy, and I couldn’t train at all. It was a huge challenge.”

He added: “It’s not just about your shoot or your dream project being delayed, but your whole life being put on hold and you not being able to do anything normally until you recover. Intensive physiotherapy and rehabilitation helped me, but I relapsed after the action scenes and finished the rest of the shoot with a broken back.”

The actor said that these are simply an integral part of an artist’s life.

“Things don’t always go the way you want, but you have to get up and focus on getting the job done,” he said.

Despite the setback, Prateik’s motivation to play the character kept him going.

He said: “In Beinteha, I play an MMA fighter, a role that is very close to my heart as I practice MMA. I think all my real-life training has helped me in filming the action scenes and getting into character and adopting the mindset of a fighter.”

“But I think my main motivation to be a part of this film was my amazing director Arif Khan and the fact that he had me in mind while writing the story, he made it just for me and I wanted to come on board as soon as possible.”

‘Beinteha’, directed by Arif Khan, starring Elli Avram and Prateik Patil Babbar, premieres on Tips YouTube channel on September 13.
