Google Doodle today celebrates the equestrian events of the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games

Today’s Google Doodle: The tech giant has unveiled a special doodle to celebrate the Paralympic athletes who will be taking part in the equestrian event at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games today. The animated doodle features a little helmeted bird riding a horse. Meanwhile, a chicken acts as the referee for the game.

“Galloping for gold! It’s time to saddle up for the Paralympic equestrian events at the Palace of Versailles,” Google added in its description. Unlike the Olympics, which have three equestrian disciplines, the Paralympics have only one, which is dressage. Both rider and horse are judged in this event.

According to the official website, Olympics.com, the precision and quality of the horsemanship, the artistry, the horse’s gait and stops are some of the aspects on which the equestrian events are judged.

Although Para dressage began as a leisure activity, the first competitions were held in the 1970s.
