Bombay: Ganesh Chaturthi A festival much loved by devotees, it begins today and will continue for the next ten days. One of the most famous Ganpati pandals is the Lalbaugcha Raja in Mumbai. Lalbaugcha Raja, or King of Lalbaug, is also known as Navsacha Ganpati. Every year, the Ganeshotsav festivities begin with the unveiling of the first aspect of ‘Lalbaugcha Raja’, located at Putlabai Chawl.

Devotees in the Indian capital will also be able to experience Lalbaugcha Raja in Delhi. The Lalbaugcha Raja Trust is organising a spectacular Ganesh Mahotsav in New Delhi, where the much-awaited statue of Ganesh Lalbaugcha Raja will be on display.

This famous statue, originally from Mumbai, will be displayed in the capital once again after its first appearance in Delhi in 2015.

The event was formally launched at a press conference held at the Constitution Club in New Delhi on Monday. Bharatiya Janata Party ( Indian People’s Party (BJP) ) Manoj Tiwari, a key member of the organising committee, MP, announced the details of the festival. “People from across the country travel to Mumbai to have darshan of Lalbagh ka Raja. Since 2015, we have brought Lalbagh ka Raja to Delhi as well. I invite everyone in Delhi NCR to join us,” Tiwari said.

The Ganesh Mahotsav will take place from September 7 to 16. According to Tiwari, “The pandal will be spread over an area of ​​55,500 sq m, will have a wooden floor and will have a capacity of around 500,000 people. It will include sections dedicated to discourses by Baba Bageshwar Ji and Aniruddhacharya Ji Maharaj as well as cultural programmes and musical performances. The venue is conveniently located near a metro station.”

The Mahotsav will be held at the DDA Ground, near Sanat Nirankari Samagam, Burari, from September 7 to 16.
