The Department of Health has issued new instructions for RMO and SR doctors

Efforts are being made to collect all information related to doctors.

Correspondent, Calcutta

There is a standoff between doctors and the state administration over the RG tax scandal. Meanwhile, a new instruction issued by the Department of Health may increase the problems of doctors associated with the government health system. The Department of Health is collecting all kinds of information related to resident doctors (RMO) and senior residents (SR).

In such a situation, the Health Department has sought information related to PAN card, registration number, phone number, title, etc. of the RMOs and senior resident doctors working there from various government medical colleges and hospital administrations. Regarding this new instruction, the Health Department has said that it is done only for the purpose of maintaining the records of such doctors. A copy of this instruction has been sent to the principals and superintendents of all the medical colleges.

It has also been asked how many doctors are working in the post of RMO and Senior Resident in their hospitals, because RMO and Senior Resident doctors are non-practicing posts. That is, such doctors cannot engage in private practice while holding this post, hence this new instruction has been issued by the Health Department. At the same time, a copy of this order has also been sent to Swasthya Sathi Cell.

In this regard, a health department official said that this is a regular process. This information has been sought for record keeping. There is nothing to fear or panic about, but still clouds of apprehension hang over the agitated young doctors. According to him, such an order worries him.
