The Gaekwad dynasty once ruled the princely state of Baroda. Princess Indira Devi She was the daughter of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad II of Baroda and his second wife, Chimnabai II.
Indira Devi married Maharaja Jitendra Narayan Bhup Bahadur of the Cooch Behar royal family. Together they had five children: Princess Ila Devi, Prince Jagaddipendra Narayan, Prince Indrajitendra Narayan, Princess Gayatri Devi and Princess Menaka Devi.
Ila Devi married Maharaj Ramendra Kishore Deb Burman, a member of the royal family of Tripura.
His son, Bharat Dev Varma, married the actor. Moon Moon Sendaughter of legendary film star Suchitra Sen. This makes her daughters, Raima and Riya, closely linked to royalty – their great-grandmother, Indira Devi, hailed from the Baroda royal family and married into the Cooch Behar royal family. Their grandmother, Ila Devi, was born into the Cooch Behar royal family and married into the Tripura royal family. What makes this even more interesting is the fact that Ila Devi was the sister of Maharani Gayatri Devi of Jaipur, further deepening their royal connection.
