4 MLD wastewater treatment plants installed

This initiative is part of the effort to achieve Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) within the plant. Under the ZLD project, 4 MLD Wastewater Treatment Plants (STP) have been installed within the RSP premises. Currently, the treated effluent from this WWTP flows into a lagoon for natural oxidation before being released into the Brahmani River. To further utilize the treated water and comply with the legal guidelines, the Water Management Department conceptualized a plan to use this water in various gardens and for cleaning of roads within the RSP.

Project completed in four months at a cost of Rs 2.44 crore

Under this project, treated water from the STP is pumped from the STP to the Treatment System-1 using submersible pumps through a 200 mm diameter pipeline stretching for about 3 km. All the major parks along the route have been equipped with suitable intakes to utilise the treated water. This project, implemented by the Water Management Department, was completed in about four months at a cost of Rs 2.44 crore.
