11th grade student commits suicide in tribal hostel in Madhya Pradesh; inquiry panel formed

Madhya Pradesh:A class 11 student committed suicide by jumping from a hostel. The student committed suicide in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, by jumping from the fourth floor of his hostel, an official said. This happened at the government tribal hostel in Gandhwani, which is nearly 80 km from the district headquarters.
The deceased was a student of Chief Minister Rise School. “He committed suicide by jumping from the fourth floor of the hostel building. We are investigating the reason for this extreme step,” said sub-divisional magistrate Rahul Gupta. A two-member committee, comprising the sub-district magistrate and the deputy commissioner of the tribal welfare department, will investigate the incident and further action will be taken.
Maharashtra student attempts suicide
Recently, a 10th grade student attempted suicide at the government-funded ashram school in Maharashtra’s Palghar district. The 17-year-old student tried to hang herself with a scarf inside the school’s washroom. The incident occurred at a school located in Ransheth on September 2. State Tribal Project staff have been sent to the school to investigate the matter and file a report, Dahanu Project official Satyam Gandhi said.
