Thousands dropped out of CGL Level One Recruitment Exam on the first day, where and how many appeared for the exam – Career News

The Combined Postgraduate Level One (CGL) computer-based examination 2024 has been started by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) from Monday. This examination, which will run till September 26, will be held in three shifts in 18 districts of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar under the Central Region of the SSC. 8,81,582 candidates are registered for the level one computer-based examination at 89 centres in both the states. Out of 72,069 candidates registered on the first day, 39,503 (54.81 per cent) appeared. In UP, out of 49,625 candidates, 26,637 (53.68 per cent) appeared, while in Bihar, out of 22,446 registered candidates, 12,866 (57.32 per cent) appeared. The exam is held from 9 to 10 in the morning, from 12:30 to 13:30 in the afternoon and from 4 to 5 in the afternoon.

Highest attendance in Prayagraj

Prayagraj had the maximum number of candidates present in the CGL Tier-One exam on Monday among 18 cities. Out of 7,596 candidates registered in Prayagraj, 4,514 (59.43 per cent) were present. Following that, in Bhagalpur, 1,099 out of 1,860 (59.09 per cent) candidates appeared, while in Jhansi, 946 (58.40 per cent) out of 1,620 candidates appeared.

SSC CGL Tier-1 exam will be held from September 9 to September 26. Online applications were accepted from June 24 to July 27 for the recruitment of 17,727 CGL posts. Through this exam, selection will be made for Group B and C posts in central government departments. Around 30 lakh youth from across the country have applied for this recruitment.
