Tyreek HillHill’s arrest by Miami Police is becoming a major controversy as the Miami Police Department sent one of the officers involved in the case on administrative leave. Hill was arrested by Miami Police prior to the Miami Dolphins‘NFL game against the Jaguars.

The Dolphins have demanded strict action against the overly aggressive behavior of the police officers after the Miami Police Department itself released a video of the incident.

Tyreek Hill was arrested before the start of the season opener. Hours before kickoff, Hill was pulled over by police for speeding. The wide receiver was later released, though the aggressive behavior of the police officers has been criticized by many celebrities, including some of Hill’s teammates.

On Monday, the Miami-Dade Police Department released the officers’ body camera footage amid growing concerns about the incident.

Hill’s team, the Miami Dolphins, subsequently released a statement on the matter. While they expressed their respect for the Miami Police Department, the NFL team demanded strict action against the officers due to their overly aggressive behavior.

“We are saddened by the overly aggressive and violent conduct directed toward Tyreek Hill, Calais Campbell and Jonnu Smith by police officers prior to yesterday’s game. It is both maddening and heartbreaking to see the very people we rely on to protect our community use such unnecessary force and hostility toward players,” the Dolphins’ social media post read.

“While we commend MDPD for taking the correct and necessary steps to quickly release these images, we also urge them to take equally swift and forceful action against the officers who engaged in such despicable behavior,” the NFL side demanded.

MDPD Chief Stephanie V. Daniels said Sunday that an investigation has been launched into the incident.

“Following the incident involving Tyreek Hill, I have initiated an Internal Affairs investigation to ensure a thorough review of the matter. One of the officers involved in the incident has been placed on administrative duty while the investigation is conducted,” his statement reads.

Meanwhile, Tyreek Hill, also known as ‘Cheetah,’ brought out the ‘handcuffs’ celebration after scoring a key touchdown that helped the Dolphins prevail on Sunday.

“I wasn’t being disrespectful because my mom didn’t raise me that way, I didn’t swear, I didn’t do any of that. Like I said, I’m still trying to figure it out,” Hill said of the arrest in his post-match interview.
