The unification of the CPI-ML generated enthusiasm among communists across the country.

What topics were discussed?

General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya initiated the discussion on the evolving political situation in the country. The BJP is conspiring to entangle the Dalit community among themselves.

The CPI (ML) believes that the BJP is conspiring to entangle the Dalit community with each other under the pretext of sub-categorisation. Instead of talking about its agenda of economic and educational empowerment, it is playing a politics of confusion. Therefore, a special session of Parliament should be convened on the SC-ST sub-plan. We demand an immediate country-wide caste census.

State interference in the Waqf Board is not appropriate

State interference in the Waqf Board issue is not appropriate. We feel that Muslim civil society should examine this issue itself and take necessary interventions to make the Waqf properties transparent. The CPI (ML) demands that appropriate royalties on mineral wealth be provided to Jharkhand and other states so that steps can be taken to eliminate poverty and unemployment.
