Odisha News: CBI probe needed in Nav Das and Mamita Mehar murder case: Jai Narayan Mishra

Odisha News: Senior BJP MLA Jaynarayan Mishra raised the issue of the murder of Swami Laxmananand Saraswati, former minister Navkishore Das, teacher Mamita Mehar and Govind Sahu during the zero hour in the Assembly on Tuesday. Citing the ongoing mystery surrounding these incidents, he reiterated the demand for a CBI probe into these high-profile cases. Expressing concern over the inquiry process, Mr. Mishra said, “I have demanded a CBI inquiry into the deaths of Swami Laxmananand Saraswati, Mamita Mehar, Govind Sahu and Minister Nav Das as the present inquiry has created doubts and apprehensions among the people of the state. They are. A more credible and transparent investigation into these cases is necessary.” Speaking to reporters at the Assembly complex, Mishra highlighted that there is a lack of public confidence in the ongoing inquiry. For this reason, I have appealed to the government to recommend a CBI probe to reveal the truth and solve the mysteries related to these cases. When asked about his distrust in the state’s investigation agency, Mr. Mishra clarified that it was not a question of doubting the agency’s capabilities but a concern that the previous government had exerted undue influence on the police and hence there is a possibility of the investigation process being compromised. Mr. Mishra said that when people do not trust the investigation process conducted by the Odisha police, then we must hand over the cases to the top investigation agency i.e. CBI. There is nothing wrong in this.

Pratap Kesari Dev sought responses from the spokesperson on three issues during the zero hour

Biju Janata Dal MLA Pratap Kesari Dev sought responses from Assembly Speaker Surma Padhi during Zero Hour on Tuesday on three issues raised by his party earlier. Shri Dev said that today is the 10th and the budget session will be over in a few days. During the Governor’s address, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mukesh Mahaling said that opposition party leader Naveen Patnaik should be arrested. We then requested that you be excluded from the details of the assembly. You had assured us at that time that you would consider it. But you have not yet taken a decision on the matter or you have not been excluded from the minutes of the meeting. Shri Dev said that we had protested against the case of the beating up of a Raj Bhavan employee by the Governor’s son. At that time, the Law Minister had said, speaking to reporters, that the district magistrate of Puri would look into the matter and submit a report within 15 days. However, it has not been 15 days but more than a month since this incident. No report has come yet. Dev said that when the House was in session, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi had made an important announcement regarding Agniveer outside the House. During the ongoing session, no important announcement is made outside but inside the House. We then said that this is a violation of the privilege of the House. We then demanded to hand over this matter to the Privileges Committee. At that time you also said that you would study it and take a decision on it. You have not even taken any decision on this issue. Therefore, Shri Dev demanded that the Speaker of the Assembly should give his reply on these three issues.
