The Cruel Summer hitmaker received 12 nominations at the prestigious awards ceremony, which is set to take place at the UBS Arena in Elmont, New York on Wednesday, September 11. With the event just hours away from airing on television, the Chiefs tight end couldn’t help but cheer on the 34-year-old pop icon.
Travis Kelce encourages Taylor Swift to win at the VMAs
During his Wednesday appearance on the New Heights podcast, the Kansas City Chiefs star spoke about Swift VMA nominations with his co-host and brother, Jason Kelce. The former Philadelphia Eagles star, 36, read an announcement for the upcoming awards show, prompting Travis to chime in.
“Hopefully, Taylor can take some away. She’s nominated for about 10 of those awards tonight. Hopefully, she can take some Moonmen away. Those are always one of the coolest trophies,” the three-time Grammy winner said. Super Bowl said the champion.
“I wish everyone the best,” Travis continued before joking, “Unless you’re facing Tay, then I hope… [lose].” Meanwhile, Jason cheered on his brother’s girlfriend, exclaiming, “Go Tay! Go Tay!” The retired football player also agreed with his brother, calling the Moonman “a really cool award.”
