Odisha News: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has announced an increase in the amount of assistance provided to construction workers in the state. In case of death of a construction worker in an accident, the amount of assistance provided to the family has been increased from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 6 lakh. Chief Minister Majhi made this announcement on Wednesday at a programme organised on the occasion of the Construction Workers Welfare Function organised by the State Labour and Employees Insurance Department at the Lok Seva Bhawan Convention Centre. He said that in case of natural death, the families of construction workers will now receive Rs 3 lakh instead of Rs 2 lakh. The Chief Minister stated that construction workers are the backbone of the development of the economy. Be it roads, railways, buildings, factories, ports, airports, schools, hospitals or any other construction, it is impossible to imagine it without you. Man is a creation of God, who can be a creator. He can think and create. The process of forging is construction. The contribution of manpower is greatest in construction. Our skilled workers can transform the ordinary into extraordinary.
