There is no bigger matchup in cricket than India vs Pakistan, and the intense level of competition usually carries over to the players as well. For a while, there has been a huge debate over who is the better batsman between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam. Virat has broken many records in his impressive career so far, while Babar Azam is younger and slowly rising through the ranks.
Former Pakistani cricketer Danish Kaneria spoke in an exclusive conversation with ZEE News about the comparison between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam. He referred to Virat as the ‘king of cricket’ and Babar is nowhere near him.
“If Babar Azam wants to do well, he should let go of this feeling that he is the best. People should not compare Babar with Virat. I mean there is no comparison. Virat is the legend of the game and he has been consistent for many years. Babar has no chance of being compared to Babar. Virat is the king of cricket. The Pakistan cricket system and administration have spoiled Babar as they have constantly told him that he is a legend and without him the team cannot function.”
One of the main reasons why Pakistan cricket team is constantly failing is the poor performance of Babar Azam. The star batsman has been going through a rough patch for quite some time now.
“The Pakistan administration should tell Babar to go away, take a break, start playing local cricket and then come back. I remember when Inzi Bhai (Inzamam-ul-Haq) was going through a bad time, he came back to play local cricket, scored runs there and then came back to play for Pakistan,” the former Pakistani pacer told ZEE News.
